Capsicum Sabji is a yummy and tasty dish.

Capsicum Sabji is a quick and easy to cook dish for lunch or dinner. The main ingredients are capsicum and gram flour. Moreover, it is a no onion no garlic dish. Even beginners can try this dish. It tastes great with hot roti or chapati. The gram flour mixture includes spices like red chili powder, dry mango powder, and coriander seeds powder. This mixture makes it spicy and tangy in taste. By this method of preparation, capsicum retains it’s color and crunch. Thus, making this simple sabji a tasty and enjoyable dish. Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Split urad dal - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds/Rai - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - a few
  • Asafoetida powder/Hing powder - a pinch
  • Capsicum/Shimla Mirch - 2 no chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Gram flour/Besan - 2 tablespoon
  • Coriander seeds powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder/Amchur powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder/Lal mirch powder - to taste
  • Dry coconut shavings - to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok/kadhai. Put the split urad dal, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, curry leaves and asafoetida powder. Saute well.
  2. Then, add the chopped capsicum, salt to taste and mix well. Cover and cook.
  3. In a bowl, take the gram flour, put the coriander seeds powder, dry mango powder, red chili powder, and mix together. Now, add this gram flour mixture to the capsicum and mix well.
  4. Put the dry coconut shavings and cook for 1 minute.
  5. The Capsicum Sabji is ready to be served.
