Chilla | Aate Ka Chilla | Whole Wheat Pancake a delicious snack and breakfast option.

Running out of time and don’t have time to prepare breakfast. So, prepare ‘Chilla | Aate Ka Chilla | Whole Wheat Pancake’ which is very healthy and tasty too. You can easily prepare this pancake using whole wheat flour, little semolina, curd and some spices like green chilli, ginger, turmeric. It just requires 5 minutes of preparation and 5 minutes of cooking. It gets ready while you prepare meals/lunch box. This is soft in texture and amazing in taste. This can be good evening snack or breakfast or lunch or light dinner for family members. All family members will love this pancake. So, try to make this pancake at home and enjoy with your family.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Onion or other veggies are optional to make it healthier.
  • The batter should be of a flowing consistency.
  • The tawa should be hot before the batter is poured on it. Then, the flame should be lowered, and the batter poured on the tawa for it to spread easily.

Ingredients

  • Aata/Whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup
  • Sooji/Rava/Semolina - 2 Tablespoon
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 2 Tablespoon
  • Grated ginger - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Green chilliHari Mirch/ - 1, finely chopped
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 Tablespoon chopped
  • Cumin/Jeera seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. Add whole wheat flour, semolina, curd, salt, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, green chilli, coriander leaves and grated ginger in a bowl. Mix well and add water to make a batter of a flowing consistency and without any lumps.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a pan or tawa.
  3. Once the tawa is hot, lower the flame. Pour a ladleful batter on tawa and spread it in circular manner. Cook it on a medium flame. Pour a little oil on the sides.
  4. Once its bottom surface is sufficiently crisp, flip it and cook it on other side on a high flame. Once cooked, take it out on a serving plate.
  5. Delicious 'Chilla | Aate Ka Chilla | Whole Wheat Pancake' is ready to be served with any chutney or ketchup.
