Ingredients

  • Bitter gourd / Karela - 1 Big sized
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Gram flour / Besan - 2 tsp
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • All spice mix powder / Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Dry mango powder / Aamchur - 1 tsp
  • Oil - For shallow frying
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take bitter gourd and cut in half. Remove its seeds. Cut a 1/2 inch thick ring shape layer from it. Likewise, prepare all rings.
  2. Now take all rings in a bowl. Add salt. Mix well and keep it aside for 15 minutes. Then wash it and take it out in a bowl.
  3. Add gram flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, all spice mix powder, dry mango powder, and 1 tsp of oil and mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for shallow frying over medium flame, and when the oil is medium hot Place the prepared bitter gourd rings gently in a pan. Shallow fry them on high flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Flip it and cook it on the high flame from another side until it is cooked from both sides. When it changes color and becomes crispy take it out on the serving plate. Likewise shallow fry all bitter gourd rings.
  6. 'Crispy Karela Rings' is ready to be served.
