Dal Ke Pakode is a delicious and crispy snack for everyone. 

Dal Ke Pakode is a mouthwatering pakoda for everyone. This is a dish prepared on the occasion of Sankrant in Jaipur. This tastes amazing with a hot cup of tea. This uses moong dal, Chawla ki dal along with some spices. Moreover, it is quick and easy to prepare. This has a crispy texture from outside with a soft center. It goes well with any type of chutney. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Chaule ki Dal is added for crispiness, if not available, then Pakode can be made with Moong dal only or green whole moong dal can be added.
  • You can adjust the spiciness of the pakoda according to your taste.
  • Do not add water while grinding the soaked dal.
  • If you forgot to soak the dal and want to make the pakoda then soak the dal in the hot water for 1 hour. Then it is ready to use.

Ingredients

  • Yellow Moog Dal/Yellow Split Gram - 1 Cup
  • Chowlai Ki Dal/Chawli Ki Dal/Split Lobia beans - 1 Cup
  • Green Chilli - 2
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Black Peppercorns - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Saunf/Fennel Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - as required for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak both the dal overnight or for 2 hours. Then drain the water completely.
  2. Take a grinder jar and add soaked dal, green chilli, ginger, black peppercorns. Grind the ingredients to make coarse paste. Do not add water to it. Transfer the mixture to the bowl.
  3. Add fennel seeds, red chilli powder, salt. Mix well.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying.
  5. Once the oil is hot, make small pakoda with hands and fry them on a medium-high flame.
  6. When the pakode turns golden brown, take them out.
  7. Delicious 'Dal Ke Pakode' is ready to be served.
