Dum Aloo | Quick Dum Aloo is a mouthwatering curry for everyone. 

Dum Aloo | Quick Dum Aloo is super easy and very simple to prepare. This uses easily available ingredients like baby potatoes, onion, tomato and some spices. The potatoes are cooked in the gravy to make a delicious curry. This does not require much efforts and time. You can easily prepare this curry for your family and guest. This goes well with paratha, roti, tandoori roti, naan or even with rice. So, try to make this curry at home and enjoy with your loved ones. Do share your feedback as well.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Firstly, shallow fry or deep fry the boiled baby potatoes on a high flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • You can adjust the spiciness according to your taste.
  • The quantity of red chilli powder and coriander powder should be equal that is 1:1 ratio.

Ingredients

  • Boiled Baby Potatoes - 250 Gram
  • Onion - 3 roughly chopped
  • Tomato - 3 roughly chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 4 Teaspoon
  • Tej patta/Bay Leaf - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 small stick
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 2 to 3 Tablespoon + as required for frying
  • Coriander Leaves - as required for garnishing
  • Grated Cheese - as required for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Then fry the boiled potatoes for 2 to 3 minutes. Take them out and keep it aside.
  2. Take a grinder jar and add onion, tomato, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, little water. Grind it to make smooth paste.
  3. Heat 2 to 3 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  4. Add bay leaf and cinnamon stick. Then add onion-tomato paste. Cook it on a high flame while stirring it.
  5. Once oil leaves from the masala and fried baby potatoes. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Finally, add salt and mix well. Cook for a minute then switch off the gas. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  7. Delicious 'Dum Aloo | Quick Dum Aloo' is ready to be served. Garnish it with coriander leaves and grated cheese. Serve it hot.
