Gatte | Namkeen Gatte is a crunchy and yummy snack for everyone. 

We all know about very popular Gatte Ki Sabji from Rajasthani Cuisine. But this Gatte | Namkeen Gatte is a snack and you can store it for a longer time. Generally, gatte is steamed, by frying the gatte it stays longer. You can use this as a snack or for preparing gatte ki sabji at home. This is crunchy and wonderful munching snack for kids and all family members. Everyone will love this snack. So, try to make this snack at home and enjoy with your loved ones.   • You can store this gatte in the airtight container for 5 to 6 days.
  • Prepare Gatte Ki Sabzi using this gatte.
  • You can use baking powder or baking soda.

Ingredients

  • Besan/Gram Flour - 1 Cup
  • Dahi/Curd - as required to knead the dough
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Hing/Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Saunf/Fennel Seeds powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Ajwain/Carom Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Jeera/Cumin powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Baking Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 2 to 3 Tablespoon + for frying

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add gram flour/besan, salt, asafoetida, fennel seeds powder, carom seeds, red chilli powder, cumin powder. Mix well.
  2. Add 2 to 3 tablespoon oil for moyan. Mix well. It should bind if pressed. Else add more oil.
  3. Add baking powder and mix well. Then add curd and knead the semi soft dough.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying.
  5. Make long cylindrical shape log then cut into 1 inch piece.
  6. Fry the gatte on a low-medium flame until golden brown. Once done, take them out.
  7. Let it cool and keep it in the airtight container.
  8. Delicious 'Gatte | Namkeen Gatte' is ready to be served.
