Instant Sambar Using Sambar Powder is a tasty sambar for all.

Instant Sambar Using Sambar Powder is a quick and easy recipe. This uses sambar powder, water, some boiled veggies, onion and tomato. This does not require any cooked dal. In just 20 minutes you can get the sambar ready to eat with idli, rice, dosa or vada. This is a perfect recipe for bachelors or working professionals who are staying away from home.   • Add any vegetables of your choice.
  • You can make this sambar using a microwave.
  • You can adjust the consistency by adding more sambar powder.
  • Add clarified butter/ghee if you like.
  • Adding a teaspoon of sesame oil gives a nice flavour and taste to the sambar.

Ingredients

  • Water - 200 ml or 1 Cup
  • Sambar powder - 1 Tablespoon heaped
  • Curry leaves - 8 to 10
  • Tomatoes - 2 Tablespoon Chopped and Boiled
  • Onion - 2 Tablespoon Chopped and Boiled
  • Vegetables of your choice - 2 Tablespoon Chopped and Boiled
  • Sugar or Jaggery/Gud - as per taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter or Sesame oil - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take a vessel or pan. Add 200 ml water and 1 tablespoon of instant sambar powder. Soak it for few minutes.
  2. Then boil it for 15 to 18 minutes on a low heat. Stir the mixture occasionally.
  3. Add boiled tomato, onion, curry leaves and any vegetable of your choice while cooking the mixture.
  4. Add little bit of salt, sugar or jaggery as per taste. Mix well and cook. Add 1 teaspoon of ghee or sesame oil if you like the taste.
  5. Once it is cooked, switch off the gas.
  6. Yummy 'Instant Sambar Using Sambar Powder' is ready to be served with rice, idli, dosa or vada.
