Lahsun Chutney With Jowar Roti is a delicious meal.

Lahsun Chutney With Jowar Roti is a lip-smacking combination. The spicy garlic chutney or Lahsun chutney combined with flatbread made of sorghum. This is a complete meal in itself. This is a very good meal when you are travelling. The hot and spicy garlic chutney requires fresh garlic, coriander leaves, red chilli powder and butter. This is a treat for spicy food lovers. Sorghum or Jowar is a superfood loaded with calcium and minerals. Moreover, it is rich in antioxidants and essential vitamins. This grain keeps your body healthy and all the ailments at bay. This yummy meal was prepared by Gowri Naik – A lovely mom with 40 years of cooking experience from Shimoga, Karnataka. She learned this recipe from her Naniji (grandmother).

  • You can carry this meal while travelling.
  • Make sure to make the dough smooth and soft to get a perfect jowar roti.
  • You can prepare the chutney with green chillies by following the same method. Just roast the green chillies then grind to make the chutney.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR GARLIC CHUTNEY:-
  • Red Chilli Powder - 4 Teaspoon
  • Garlic cloves - 10 to 12
  • Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Butter - 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 Teaspoon
  • INGREDIENTS FOR JOWAR ROTI:-
  • Jowar aata/Sorghum flour - 1 Cup
  • Water - as required.
  • Butter/Ghee/Oil - as required

Instructions

  1. PREPARING JOWAR ROTI:-
  2. Boil 1/2 cup water in a pan. Then add Jowar aata and mix well.
  3. Add water to the flour and knead it well to make smooth dough. Divide the dough into equal sized balls.
  4. Take a dough ball, dust it with flour. Pat it with hands to make roti. Use flour if required.
  5. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Once it is hot grease it with oil. Cook the roti on a medium flame. Once the roti is cooked little bit from both the sides, cook it on flame. Then transfer to a plate.
  6. PREPARING THE GARLIC CHUTNEY:-
  7. Take a grinder jar and add red chilli powder, garlic cloves, coriander leaves, butter, salt. Add 1 tablespoon of water and grind it to make a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl.
  8. SERVING:-
  9. Take jowar roti, spread some chutney. Pour some ghee on it.
  10. Delicious 'Lahsun Chutney With Jowar Roti ' is ready to be served.
