Lasaniya Batata | Lasaniya Baby Potato is a mouthwatering dish.

Lasaniya Batata | Lasaniya Baby Potato is a famous dish from Gujarati cuisine. This has a strong flavour of garlic and it is spicy in taste. It is quick and easy to prepare with fewer ingredients. You just require red garlic chutney, boiled baby potatoes and some spices. This is a spicy treat who loves to eat spicy food. It looks tempting, you can not resist yourself from trying this curry. Ingredients

  • FOR GARLIC CHUTNEY:-
  • Garlic - 10 to 12 cloves
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/Hing - a pinch or two
  • FOR LASANIYA BABY POTATOES:-
  • Baby Potatoes - 250 g, boiled and peeled
  • Garlic chutney - 1 teaspoon
  • Kashmiri Red Chilli - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - 1 Teaspoon
  • Hing/Asafoetida - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - a handful, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Water - 2 Tablespoon
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING GARLIC CHUTNEY:
  2. Crush all the ingredients, viz., garlic, red chilli powder, salt, asafoetida, and coriander powder in a mortar and pestle to make a smooth paste. and keep it aside.
  3. FOR PREPARING LASANIYA BABY POTATOES:
  4. Heat oil in a pan
  5. Add a teaspoon of garlic chutney and sauté it on a low flame.
  6. Then add Kashmiri red chilli powder, red chilli powder, chaat masala, a little salt, and asafoetida. Mix well while keeping a low flame.
  7. Add 2 tablespoon water, mix well, and cook the mixture on a low flame.
  8. Once the oil leaves the sides, add boiled and peeled baby potatoes. Toss well to coat the potatoes. Cook for a minute.
  9. Finally, add coriander leaves and lemon juice. Give a nice stir. Then turn off the gas.
  10. Delicious 'Lasaniya Batata | Lasaniya Baby Potato' is ready to be served.
