Matar Ke Parathe | Green Peas Paratha is a mouthwatering paratha for everyone.

Matar Ke Parathe | Green Peas Paratha is a delicious winter delicacy. You just need fewer ingredients to make this yummy and healthy paratha. To make a perfect matar paratha, a secret tip is given in the recipe. It is a very healthy paratha as this uses the stuffing of green peas. This is quick and very easy to make as well. Everyone will love this paratha especially kids. You can serve it as a breakfast to your family or a tiffin snack for kids. Also, it can be a light dinner for your family. So, try to make this paratha at home and enjoy!

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Make a coarse paste of the green peas or matar.
  • Besan or gram flour absorbs the moisture of green peas and prevent the paratha from breaking.
  • You can add green chillies according to your taste in the stuffing.
  • For roasting the paratha, first, roast the paratha on a high flame until light brown spots appear on both the sides. Then only apply ghee and rost.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH:-
  • Whole Wheat Flour/Aata - 1 Cup + for dusting
  • Oil - 1 to 2 Teaspoon
  • INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING:-
  • Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Besan/Gram Flour - 2 Teaspoon
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch grated
  • Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All Spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - as per taste
  • Dry Mango Powder/Amchur - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander Leaves - a handful chopped
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE DOUGH:- Take a bowl and add whole wheat flour, oil. Mix well and add water to make soft dough like chapati. Keep aside for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. PREPARING THE STUFFING:- Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan.
  3. Add grated ginger and green chilli. Saute for few seconds.
  4. Crush the green peas to make coarse mixture. Add this paste to the pan. Mix well.
  5. Then add gram flour, mix well and saute for few seconds.
  6. Now, add salt, cumin powder, garam masala, dry mango powder, chaat masala. Mix well ad cook for few seconds. Finally add coriander leaves, mix well. Then switch off the flame. Let the mixture cool.
  7. PREPARING THE PARATHA:- Take a small portion of the dough, dust it with a flour and roll to make small roti (poori sized).
  8. Put the stuffing in the center and seal the paratha by pinching the edges together.
  9. Dust it with flour and press lightly with hands so that stuffing spreads evenly.
  10. Roll the paratha using a rolling pin with light hands.
  11. Meanwhile, heat a tawa.
  12. First, cook the paratha on a high flame until it has light brown spots on both the sides.
  13. Lower the flame and apply ghee on both the sides and roast. Once done, take it out on a serving plate.
  14. Delicious 'Matar Ke Parathe | Green Peas Paratha' is ready to be served.
