Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING GRAVY :
  • Water - 1/2 Cup + As required
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirch - 1 Slit
  • Ginger / Adrak - 1/2 Inch chopped
  • Cashew / Kaju - 4 to 5
  • Almonds / Badam - 4 to 5
  • Bay Leaf / Tej Patta - 1
  • Cinnamon Stick / Dalchini - 1 Stick
  • Cardamom / Elaichi - 2
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • FOR PREPARING METHI CHAMAN PANEER :
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek Leaves / Hari Methi - A bunch finely chopped
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Homemade Malai - 1 tbsp
  • Cottage Cheese / Paneer - 1 Cup diced
  • Dry Fenugreek Leaves / Kasuri Methi - 1 tsp
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING GRAVY :
  2. Heat water in a pan. Add onion, green chilli, ginger, cashews, almonds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cardamom, and butter. Mix well.
  3. Cook it for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame till the onion becomes soft. Keep stirring continuously.
  4. Once done, turn off the flame. Keep it aside and let it cool down. Then remove bay leaf and cinnamon stick from it.
  5. Transfer the cooked mixture to a grinding jar and add a little water. Grind it for a few seconds to prepare its gravy. Keep it aside.
  6. FOR PREPARING METHI CHAMAN PANEER :
  7. Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add fenugreek leaves and mix well. Saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally.
  8. Then add turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix well. Now add the prepared gravy and mix well.
  9. Add salt and homemade malai. Mix well. Saute it for a few seconds on medium flame.
  10. Now add paneer and dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing between your palms. Mix well.
  11. Once done, turn off the flame and take it out to a serving plate.
  12. 'Methi Chaman Paneer | Paneer Methi Chaman' is ready to be served.
