Moong Dal Kachori | Instant Recipe is a delicious snack for all.

Moong Dal Kachori | Instant Recipe is a mouthwatering kachori without any soaking. This quick and easy kachori requires green gram/moong dal, some spices, refined flour. This recipe is simple to prepare and requires fewer efforts too. You have to just roast the dal with spices and grind to make stuffing. This stuffing is used to prepare kachori. So, do try to make this instant version of the kachori and let us know how you liked it.

This yummy kachori was prepared by Gowri Naik – A lovely mom with 40 years of cooking experience from Shimoga, Karnataka.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Do not add water while grinding the roasted dal.
  • Add water to the dal mixture just before preparing the kachori. Else the kachori will not taste good.
  • Fry the kachori on a medium hot oil then on a low flame. This will give a crispy and nice texture to the kachori.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE STUFFING:-
  • Moong dal without skin/Green gram without skin - 1/2 Cup
  • Coriander seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds/Saunf - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Dry red chillies - 3 to 4 or as per the taste
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Dry ginger/Sonth - 1/2 inch piece
  • Ajwain/Carom Seeds - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE DOUGH:-
  • Refined flour/Maida - 1 Cup
  • Ajwain/Carom seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • OTHER INGREDIENTS:-
  • Oil - for frying
  • Tamarind Chutney - as required for serving

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE STUFFING:- Take a pan, add moong dal and 1/2 teaspoon oil. Roast the dal on a low flame.
  2. Add fennel seeds, coriander seeds, dry ginger, carom seeds, dry red chillies. Roast all the ingredients until the dal turns nice golden in colour. Then let it cool completely. Grind it coarsely. Add salt and mix well.
  3. PREPARING THE DOUGH:- Take a bowl, add refined flour, carom seeds, salt, and oil. Check the binding (moyan). If it combines well the moyan is perfect or else add more oil the flour.
  4. Add little water at a time to make a tight dough.
  5. PREPARING THE KACHORI:- Take a small dough ball, flatten it with hands. The adges should be thin and center should be thick.
  6. Take a bowl, add required dal mixture (prepared in step 2). Add little water just to wet the mixture. Fill this mixture immediately in the dough and seal it properly. Flatten the edges lightly.
  7. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying. Then oil should be medium hot.
  8. Once the oil is medium hot, fry the kachori on a low flame. It will take around 10 to 15 minutes to fry.
  9. Fry the kachori from both the sides until it turn nice golden brown. Once done, take it our.
  10. Yummy 'Moong Dal Kachori' is ready to be served.
