Paneer Cheese Balls are lip-smacking crispy appetizers.

Paneer Cheese Balls are a protein-rich evening snack. This is a tasty and easy-to-make dish with a spicy paneer and potato mixture. You just need paneer boiled potato, cheese, and some spices to prepare it. You can prepare these balls in advance and keep them in the refrigerator, when guests come to your home, take them out and fry them. In addition, you can serve this delicacy with ketchup on occasions like kitty parties, birthday parties, and game nights to make it special. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:

  • The paneer mixture can be stored in the refrigerator.
  • Keep bread crumbs-coated paneer cheese balls in the refrigerator for minimum of 15 minutes so, the bread crumbs will not scatter in the oil.
  • The prepared paneer cheese balls should be taken out from the refrigerator before 5 minutes of frying.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese / Paneer - 1/2 Cup grated
  • Boiled potato / Aloo - 1/4 Cup peeled and mashed
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Finely chopped
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1 to 2 Finely chopped (optional)
  • Ginger / Adarak - 1 Inch grated
  • Chaat masala - 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder / Kali mirch - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red chilli powder / lal mirch powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • All purpose flour / Maida - 1 tbsp
  • Cheese ball - As required
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • Water - As required
  • Bread crumbs - 1 Cup
  • Oil - For frying
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take grated paneer in a bowl. Add boiled potato, onion, green chilli, ginger, chaat masala, black pepper powder, salt, red chilli powder, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  2. Then add all purpose flour. Mix well and prepare dough consistency mixture.
  3. Take a small ball size of the mixture and flatten it. Place a small cheese ball on it and seal the edges to make a ball. Likewise, prepare all paneer cheese balls.
  4. Now take cornflour in a bowl. Then add water gradually and prepare a lumps-free slurry.
  5. Dip the prepared ball in the slurry and then coat it with bread crumbs completely. Likewise, prepare all paneer cheese balls. Keep all the prepared paneer cheese balls in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  6. Now take them out from the refrigerator before 5 minutes of frying.
  7. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for frying. Place prepared paneer cheese balls into the hot oil. Fry them on low flame.
  8. Deep fry them until they become crispy and golden brown from all sides. Then, take them out on a serving plate using a slotted spoon.
  9. 'Paneer Cheese Balls' are ready to be served.
