Paneer Paratha | Punjabi Paneer Paratha is a mouthwatering paratha for everyone.

Paneer Paratha | Punjabi Paneer Paratha is an irresistible treat. The stuffing used in this paratha has a perfect balance of flavours from some spices and paneer/cottage cheese. It is a healthy, protein and calcium rich paratha. This is a perfect breakfast or a tiffin snack for kids as well as adults. Moreover, it is very easy to prepare with easily available ingredients. Everyone will love this flavourful paratha. So, try to make this paratha at your end and enjoy with your loved ones.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can avoid onions if you want.
  • More the stuffing the tastier will be the paratha.
  • To make a perfect stuffed paratha, roll it lightly from edges to the centre. This will make the stuffing intact and the stuffing spreads evenly.
  • While roasting, once the paratha gets light spots on both the sides then only apply ghee/clarified butter.
  • You can use oil too for roasting the paratha. But boasting the paratha with ghee enhances the flavour. So, do make it with ghee.
  • Press the paratha with spoon/spatula and roast it in a circular direction. This method will cook the paratha well.

Ingredients

  • Grated Paneer/Cottage Cheese - 1 & 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Onion - 1 Tablespoon finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - 1 Teaspoon finely chopped
  • Mint leaves - 1/2 Teaspoon finely chopped
  • Grated Ginger - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Green Chilli - 1/2 Teaspoon finely chopped
  • Carom seeds/Ajwain - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Amchur/Dry Mango powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Anardana powder / Dry Pomegranate seeds powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Whole Wheat Dough - as required
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add grated paneer, finely chopped onion, mint leaves, coriander leaves, grated ginger, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, carom seeds, dry mango powder, anardana. Mix well.
  2. Now, take 2 small lemon sized dough ball. Roll them to make 2 small roti.
  3. Now, take a roti and put all the stuffing. Cover it with another roti. Seal the edges properly. Dust it with flour and roll it with light hands.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a tawa/griddle.
  5. Once the tawa is hot, cook the paratha on a medium flame. Once it gets cooked little bit from both the sides, apply ghee and roast it by pressing with a spatula. Take out on a plate.
  6. Delicious 'Paneer Paratha' is ready to be served with a dollop of butter.
