Paneer Tikka | Restaurant Style Paneer Tikka is a lip-smacking appetizer. 

Paneer Tikka | Restaurant Style Paneer Tikka is a most lovable snack and starter. This is a flavourful and mouthwatering snack made using paneer/cottage cheese. You can easily prepare this popular appetizer at home by following this simple recipe. You just need some veggies like onion, capsicum, some spices, and most important paneer. This is generally cooked in the tandoor/clay oven but you can prepare it at home using a pan or tawa as well. You can serve it as a party appetizer or evening tea-time snack. Everyone will love this paneer tikka and demand you to make it again and again. So, try to make it at home and enjoy with your family and friends.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Make thick curd/hung curd to make tikka by hanging the curd in a muslin cloth to remove its water.
  • Mustard oil gives a nice taste, so do add this in the marination.
  • Marinate the paneer, onion and capsicum for at least 30 minutes. You can keep the marinated ingredients in the refrigerator for one day.
  • Cook the paneer tikka on a high flame with mustard oil. However, you can use butter, or ghee instead.
  • You can avoid onion and garlic in this recipe if you want.
  • Make this curry using homemade paneer.

Ingredients

  • Paneer/Cottage Cheese - 200 grams
  • Pyaz/Onion - 1, diced
  • Green and yellow capsicum - 1 cup, diced
  • Thick curd - 1 cup
  • Garlic paste - 1 Teaspoon (optional)
  • Grated ginger - 1 Teaspoon
  • Kitchen King Masala - 1 Teaspoon (optional)
  • Garam Masala/All Spice Mix - 1 Teaspoon
  • Kasuri Methi/Dry Fenugreek Leaves - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Haldi powder/Turmeric powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Lal mirch powder/Red chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Jeera/Cumin powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Sarson Tel/Mustard oil - 2 Teaspoon + as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add and whisk well thick curd, garlic paste, grated ginger, kitchen king masala, garam masala, kasuri methi, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and mustard oil. Whisk it well.
  2. Add diced onion, diced yellow and green capsicum, and paneer cubes. Mix well to coat everything well. Rest it for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Now, put a wooden skewer one by one through put marinated paneer, onion, and capsicums.
  4. Now, heat a pan and add mustard oil in it.
  5. Once the oil is hot, place the skewer across the pan and roast the paneer tikka on a high flame. Keep flipping it to roast it on all the sides.
  6. When it turns golden brown, take it out.
  7. Delicious 'Paneer Tikka | Restaurant Style Paneer Tikka' is ready to be served.
