Peanut Chutney | Andhra Style Peanut Chutney is a great accompaniment to your breakfast and is healthy too.

Peanut Chutney | Andhra Style Peanut Chutney is the most favourite chutney recipe at our home. It tastes amazing, especially with Idli and Dosa for breakfast. I plan to make extra Idli and Dosa whenever we prepare Peanut chutney for breakfast. You can also eat the Peanut chutney with upma, Pongal, bonda, pesarattu, vada etc. Moreover, this is quick and easy to prepare. So, try to make this chutney at home and enjoy with your family and friends.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can add dry red chillies according to your taste.
  • Adjust the consistency of the chutney as per your choice and taste.

Ingredients

  • Roasted peanuts (without skin) - 3/4 cup
  • Chopped onion - 1 small sized
  • Dry Red chilli - 4 to 5
  • Tamarind pulp - 1/2 tablespoon or as per taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - as required
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA:-
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Jeera/Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Urad dal/Black Gram without skin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dry red chilli - 1
  • Curry leaves - around 10

Instructions

  1. Dry roast peanuts and remove the skin after it cools down.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and add onion and dry red chilli. Saute them till onions turn translucent.
  3. Grind roasted peanuts to powder consistency in a mixie jar.
  4. To the ground peanuts, add tamarind pulp, cooked onion and green chilli, salt and little water.
  5. Grind them all together and add water in between grinding till it becomes a smooth paste. Transfer this chutney to a bowl.
  6. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard, jeera, urad dal, dry red chilli and curry leaves.
  7. Pour the tadka on chutney.
  8. 'Peanut Chutney | Andhra Style Peanut Chutney' is ready to be enjoyed with your favorite breakfast.
