Molaga Podi | Idli Podi | Gunpowder is a traditional dry chutney. This chutney powder goes well with Idli or dosa or hot rice by adding a little sesame oil or ghee to it. It is simply amazing chutney that you can carry while traveling or in the tiffin box. You can easily prepare this chutney and store it for a longer time. Moreover, it is an aromatic and flavourful dry chutney. It is made using Bengal gram, black gram without the skin, sesame seeds, and some spices. Hence it is a healthy protein and iron-rich chutney. So, try to make this gunpowder at home and enjoy it with your family.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-
- Use dry red chillies and jaggery according to your taste. You can use less spicy red chillies as well.
- First of all grind the roasted lentils/dal then add then other ingredients to grind.
- Store this dry chutney in an airtight container. It can be stored for several months.
- Serve this chutney with Idli | soft spongy idli or Dosa | Plain Dosa | Sada Dosa or with hot steamed rice.
