Rava Toast or Suji Toast or Sooji Toast is a crunchy and a mouthwatering breakfast and snack option.

Rava Toast or Suji Toast or Sooji Toast is a simple and quick recipe. You just require rava/sooji/suji/semolina, brown bread, some veggies and spices. It is a time saver recipe to make for busy mornings for your kid’s tiffin snack or breakfast as it requires hardly 15 minutes. Moreover, this is very healthy because it uses lots of veggies which enhances the taste as well. You can serve this dish as an evening tea-time snack or breakfast with tomato ketchup or green chutney. So, do try it out at your end and let us know how you liked it.

  • You can add veggies as per the availability and choice.
  • Use brown bread or white bread or multigrain bread to make this toast.
  • If you are making this toast for kids then avoid adding green chillies.

Ingredients

  • Bread Slices - 4
  • Rava/Suji/Sooji/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Freash Curd - 1/2 Cup
  • Onion - 1 medium sized finely chopped
  • Carrot - 1/2 grated
  • Cucumber - 1/2 grated
  • Green Chilli - 2 or as per taste chopped
  • Grated ginger - 1/2 inch piece
  • Coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - as required
  • Chaat Masala - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - as required for roasting

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add semolina, fresh curd, chopped veggies, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala. Mix well together. Add water if required to make thick consistency batter. If you have time then rest the batter for 5 minutes or else use it immediately.
  2. Now, cut the bread slice into round shape using a katori or a cookie cutter.
  3. With the help of a spoon, spread the semolina mixture on one side of bread. Sprinkle sesame seeds on the top.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a pan.
  5. Once the pan is hot, lower the flame. Pour some ghee and cook the toast (semolina side should be down) on a medium flame.
  6. Apply some ghee on the sides and on the top of bread.
  7. When it turn nice golden brown, flip it and cook from another side.
  8. When the toast turns nice golden brown and crispy from both the sides, take them out on a plate.
  9. Yummy 'Rava Toast or Suji Toast or Sooji Toast' is ready to be served with ketchup or chutney.
