Rot | Rajasthani Khoba Roti is a famous and delicious roti for all.

Rot | Rajasthani Khoba Roti is prepared on the occasion of Anat Chaturdashi. This requires few ingredients and you can easily the roti on tawa. You can serve it with Panchmel Dal or any type of curry like Gatte ki Sabzi or with Raita and Bura (powdered sugar). This is quick and easy to prepare too. This roti is unique because of its look. It has cavities on the top that helps to retain ghee on it. So, try to make this rot at your end and enjoy the meal with your family.

  • Moyan is important to make the dough.
  • Knead the semi-soft dough to make the roti.
  • This roti is quite thick as compared to regular chapati.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Flour - 1 Cup
  • Sooji/Semolina - 1/4 Cup
  • Carom Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - 4 Teaspoon + as required for serving
  • Warm water - as required for kneading the dough

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add whole wheat flour, semolina, ajwain/carom seeds, salt and ghee. Mix well. Check the binding. If it does not bind then add more ghee. Then add warm water to make semi soft dough. Cover and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a tawa.
  3. Take a big sized dough ball and roll it to make very thick roti.
  4. Cook it on a low flame on hot tawa. Once it gets cooked little bit from one side, flip it and cook it from other side.
  5. Then take it out and on the side which was little bit cooked, pinch the dough in circular manner to make design (this will make cavities on roti).
  6. Cook the roti well on a direct flame. Once done, take it out. Pour ghee on the roti.
  7. Delicious 'Rot | Rajasthani Khoba Roti' is ready to be served wit bura (powdered sugar) and raita.
