Samosa | Mix Veg Samosa is a mouthwatering snack for everyone.

Samosa | Mix Veg Samosa is a favourite snack in all over India. There are many variations of this yummy snack. But this samosa uses carrot and peas along with potato. That makes it unique and delicious too. You can easily make a perfect crispy samosa at your home by following these tips and tricks. And the folding technique is so easy that kids can make samosa with you. This has delicious filling with a blend of spices. Everyone will love this snack. So, try to make this snack at your end and enjoy this rainy season with family and friends.

Tips and Suggestions by the Chefs:-

  • You can add veggies of your choice to make the stuffing.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste.
  • Adding oil in the dough (which is called as moyan) is very important to make crispy samosa.
  • To seal the edges, you can use a paste of refined flour and water.
  • You can use whole wheat flour/gehu ka aata for outer covering.
  • For frying the samosa, the oil should be hot. Once the samosa float on the oil, then only flip them and lower the heat. Do not stir it else they may stick to each other.

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING:-
  • Boiled Potato - 6 to 7
  • Boiled carrot - 1 Cup
  • Boiled Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Onion - 1 Cup chopped
  • Garlic - 6 to 7 cloves crushed
  • Ginger-Green Chilli paste - 1 & 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves - 2 spring
  • Coriander Leaves - a handful chopped
  • Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala/All spice mmix - 3 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - 3 Tablespoon
  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE OUTER COVERING:-
  • Maida/Refined flour - 4 Cups
  • Oil - 6 to 7 Tablespoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Oil - as required for frying

Instructions

  1. PREPARING THE STUFFING:-
  2. Mash the boiled potato along with boiled carrot. Then add boiled peas. Mix well with hands.
  3. Now, heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  4. Then add curry leaves, ginger-green chilli paste. Saute for few seconds.
  5. Then add crushed garlic and saute for few seconds.
  6. Add chopped onion and saute it until it turns translucent.
  7. Now, add red chilli powder, garam masala, salt. Mix well and cook the masala for a minute.
  8. Finally, add mashed potato mixture. Mix well. Cook for couple of minutes. Then switch off the gas. Let it cool completely.
  9. PREPARING THE DOUGH:-
  10. Take a big thali/parat. Add refined flour, oil and salt. Mix well then add water to make medium soft dough. Keep the dough aside to rest for 10 minutes.
  11. PREPARING SAMOSA:-
  12. Take a big sized dough. Roll it to make big roti. Then cut it into semi circle.
  13. Now, take the semi circle and seal the edges by pinching it. (straight side) It will look like a cone.
  14. Put 1 to 2 tablespoon of stuffing and seal it properly.
  15. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying.
  16. Once the oil is hot, fry the samosa on a medium-high flame.
  17. When the samosa floats on the oil, flip them them and fry on a low flame.
  18. Fry the samosa until they turn nice golden brown. Take them out on a plate.
  19. Delicious 'Samosa | Mix Veg Samosa' is ready to be served.
