Satpadi Paratha is crispy, flaky, paratha with 7 layers. 

Satpadi Paratha is a unique flatbread with a simple technique. You can prepare it for busy weekdays or when there is no vegetable in your refrigerator. Satpadi means seven layers. This paratha has seven layers. It goes well with curd, pickle, or raita. Ghee gives a nice flavor and helps in digestion as well. It is best to serve breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING SLURRY :
  • Rice flour / Chawal ka aata - 1 Teaspoon
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - 1 Teaspoon
  • FOR PREPARING SATPADI PARATHA :
  • Whole wheat dough - As required
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - As required

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING SLURRY :
  2. Take rice flour and ghee in a bowl. Mix well. Keep it aside.
  3. FOR PREPARING SATPADI PARATHA :
  4. Take the wheat dough and make round shaped big circular peda from the dough. Dust it with flour and roll a peda to make a big roti.
  5. Apply prepared rice flour slurry on it. Likewise, prepare another 6 parathas.
  6. Now place another prepared paratha on it. Put plain paratha side on the other paratha's slurry applied side.
  7. Likewise, place all paratha. Dust wheat flour on 6th paratha. Cover it with last 7th paratha. Keep it's plain side on outer side.
  8. Now start to fold it like a roll. Press both edges. Then cut it into thick equal pieces.
  9. Now take a piece. Keep it vertical and press it with your palm. Dust it with flour and roll it to make a paratha.
  10. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Grease it with ghee. Place the paratha on the tawa. Cook from one side.
  11. Flip it once it is slightly brown, apply ghee on both sides, and cook it on a medium to high flame. Press the paratha while cooking it to make it crispy.
  12. Once done. Take it out to the serving plate.
  13. 'Satpadi Paratha' is ready to be served.
