Suji Appam | Instant Rava Appam is a mouthwatering and very healthy breakfast option.

Suji Appam | Instant Rava Appam is quick and easy to prepare breakfast and snack. This has lots of veggies along with the goodness of suji/semolina. You just need few ingredients and 10 minutes for cooking. You can serve it as an evening tea time snack or a tiffin snack for kids or even breakfast for your family. This is not only tasty but filling too. Everyone will love this dish. Moreover, this is very easy and is an instant recipe that you can prepare without any hassle. So, try to make it at home and enjoy your meal with your family. Do share your feedback as well.

  • You can use veggies of your choice to make the appam.
  • The consistency of the batter should be thick.
  • Cook the appam on a low flame only else they may burn and will not cook properly from inside.
  • Serve this dish with Coconut Chutney or Peanut Chutney.

Ingredients

  • Suji/Rava/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Curd - 1/4 Cup
  • Green Chilli - 1 finely chopped
  • Grated Ginger - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Onion - 2 Tablespoon chopped
  • Tomato - 2 Tablespoon chopped
  • Grated Carrot - 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Chaat Masala - as per taste
  • Oil - as required for greasing
  • INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA:-
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves - few

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl and add semolina, curd. Mix well. Adjust the consistency by adding water to it. It should be thick batter. Rest the batter for 30 minutes.
  2. Then add chopped onion, tomato, grated carrot, green chilli, ginger, salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, chaat masala, coriander leaves. Mix well.
  3. PREPARING THE TADKA:- Heat oil in tadka pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Pour this tadka to the batter. Mix well.
  4. Grease the appam pan with oil. Heat the pan.
  5. Fill all the cavities with the batter. Cook it on a low flame by covering with a lid.
  6. After 2 to 3 minutes, brush the top with oil. Then flip the appe with the help of a knife. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Once cooked, take them out.
  7. Delicious 'Suji Appam | Instant Rava Appam' is ready to be served with chutney.
