Tamatar Pyaaz Ka Paratha | Rajasthani Tikkad is a very popular and most lovable paratha.

Tamatar Pyaaz Ka Paratha | Rajasthani Tikkad is a spicy, little tangy paratha. This is a very healthy paratha as well goes well with pickle or curd. In Rajasthan, it is served with aloo pyaaz ki sabzi. It is a good brunch or lunch or breakfast or even dinner. Make this paratha when you do not have veggies at home with basic ingredients. It is very easy to prepare too. So, try to make this paratha at your end and enjoy with your loved ones.

  • You can use either tomato puree or grated tomato for the paratha.
  • Use ghee or oil to roast the paratha.
  • Serve this paratha with any type of pickle or curd or Aloo Pyaaz Ki Sabzi.

Ingredients

  • Gehu ka aata/ Whole wheat flour - 1 Cup
  • Besan/ Gram flour - 1 Cup
  • Sooji/ Semolina - 2 Tablespoon
  • Tamatar/ Tomato - 1 medium sized grated
  • Pyaaz/ Onion - 1 Medium sized grated
  • Hari mirch/ Green chilli - 1 finely chopped
  • Adrak/ Ginger - 1/2 inch grated
  • Haldi powder/ Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Laal mirch powder/ Red chilli powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Hing/ Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Dhaniya patta/ Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Namak/ Salt - as per taste
  • Ghee/ Clarified Butter - 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add whole wheat flour, gram flour, grated tomato, onion, green chilli, ginger, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt, and 1 teaspoon ghee. Mix all together and make a medium soft dough using water.
  2. Take a small-sized dough ball (similar to a chapati’s), dust it with flour, and roll it a little thick.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Grease it with ghee.
  4. Cook the paratha/tikkad on a hot tawa. Keep the flame medium and cook the paratha on both the sides. Apply some ghee and roast it.
  5. Once cooked, take it out.
  6. Delicious 'Tamatar Pyaaz Ka Paratha | Rajasthani Tikkad' is ready to be served with any type of pickle or curd.
