Til Ke Ladoo : Lohri or Sankranthi Special

Til Ke Ladoo is a simple yet delicious sweet for all age groups. 

Lohri and Sankranti hold a special place in Indian culture. We celebrate these festivals in grand style and a lot of food and sweets are made to celebrate these festivals. One of the main sweets prepared is Til Ke Ladoo. This is a simple yet delicious preparation. Moreover, sesame seeds or til are rich in calcium. Everyone should consume these seeds in winters. Preparing Til ke Ladoo is a very simple and easy process. You just need 2 ingredients that til/sesame seeds and gud/jaggery. By following this recipe the ladoo will be soft in texture. Hence all age groups can enjoy this ladoo. So, try to make this at home and enjoy the festive season with family and friends. Do share your feedback with us.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Dry roast the til/sesame seeds just to remove the raw taste. Do not over roast it.
  • Grind the roasted sesame seeds and jaggery to make a coarse powder.
  • If you are unable to bind the ladoo then add little milk to the mixture.
  • You can add jaggery to the ladoo as per your taste.

Ingredients

  • White Til or Sesame - 1 Cup
  • Grated Gud or jaggery - 3/4 Cup or as per taste
  • Roasted til/Sesame Seeds - as required for rolling the ladoo

Instructions

  1. Dry roast Til (Sesame seeds) in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes on a medium flame.
  2. Mix grated jaggery and til together. Churn them together in a mixer to make coarse powder. Transfer the mixture to the bowl.
  3. Make circular balls out of the mixture. Then roll them in roasted til/sesame seeds.
  4. Delicious 'Til Ke Ladoo' is ready to be served.
