Village Style Bajre Ki Roti is a millet-based flatbread prepared from pearl millet flour. Bajra which is also called pearl millet is a very nutritious millet, high in protein, and gluten-free. Women in Rajasthani households or village use their hands to make Bajra Ki Roti instead of rolling pins. They pat on the roti continuously to make it thinner, so that it cooks evenly on the stove. - As the flour is gluten-free, it becomes difficult to make it using a rolling pin.
- You can use a zip bag, an aluminum sheet or a plastic sheet and then use a rolling pin to make if you are trying to make it at home.
- Serve it hot with ghee for best taste.
- It is not advisable to eat Bajra Ki Roti every day in summers, as it is heavy and can create digestion problems. Therefore, it is consumed more in winters.
