Achari Paneer is a popular and mouthwatering paneer recipe

Achari Paneer is a creamy as well as robustly flavored cottage cheese curry with pickling spices or achari masala. The slight sourness of the fresh tomato puree complements the flavors of the spices. This recipe is also a no onion no garlic version, but if you want, you can add onions and garlic. An extremely popular and soul-satisfying recipe, that can be served with roti or naan or paratha or rice. Try to prepare this delicious recipe and enjoy it with family and friends. Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Ginger-green chili paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato puree - 3 to 4 tomatoes
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt - as required
  • Kashmiri red chili - 3 to 4
  • Coriander seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Methi seeds/Fenugreek seeds - a pinch
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - as required
  • Paneer/Cottage Cheese - 2 cups, diced
  • Coriander leaves - finely chopped as required for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add ginger-green chili paste. Sauté it well on a low to medium flame.
  2. Now, add tomato puree, salt, turmeric powder, and sauté it. Cover and cook it on a low flame for a few minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a pan and add roast red chili, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, on a low flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Rough/coarse grind the mixture after it cools down.
  4. Then, add one tablespoon of roughly ground masala into the tomato puree and sauté it well. Cover and cook it on a low flame for a few minutes.
  5. Now, add some water and paneer, and sauté it well. Garnish it with coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
  6. Delicious Achari Paneer is ready to be served.
