Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 Teaspoon
  • Green chilli / Hari mirch - 2 Finely chopped
  • Potato / Aloo - 2 Boiled and mashed
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Dry fenugreek leaves / Kasuri methi - 1 Teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Whole wheat dough - As required
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - As required

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, green chilli, and potato. Mix well.
  2. Now add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dry fenugreek leaves by rubbing between your palm. Mix well it on low flame.
  3. Then add coriander leaves. Mix well. Let it cool down.
  4. Take a small ball-sized portion of the dough, shape it into a ball, and flatten it. Dust it with flour. Roll it and prepare a roti.
  5. Now add prepared potato stuffing in the centre. Join the edges and seal the paratha properly. Dust it with flour. Roll it with a light hand and prepare thin paratha.
  6. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Place the paratha on it and cook it on one side.
  7. Flip it, once it is slightly brown. Flip the paratha, after it is roasted well from one side.
  8. Apply ghee on both sides and cook on a medium flame. Press the paratha while cooking to make it crispy.
  9. Once done, transfer it to a serving plate.
  10. 'Aloo Paratha In New Style' is ready to be served.
