Bache Hue Chawal Ka Uttapam is a delicious and healthy breakfast for everyone. 

Bache Hue Chawal Ka Uttapam is a taste out of the waste recipe. This uses leftover rice along with some other easily available ingredients. It is quick and easy to prepare. This has a crispy texture from outside with a soft centre. As this uses lots of vegetables, it is a healthier breakfast option for all the family members. You can give this uttapam in the kid’s tiffin box as well. So, try to make it at home and enjoy your meal time with family. Do share your feedback with us.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • You can use veggies as per your choice and availability.
  • Baking soda makes the uttapam fluffy. So, do add it in the batter.
  • Add spices according to your taste.
  • In place of oil, you can use ghee or butter.
  • Instead of red chili powder, you can use black pepper powder.

Ingredients

  • Cooked Rice/Leftover Rice - 1 Cup
  • Sooji/Semolina - 1 Cup
  • Curd/Dahi - 1/2 Cup
  • Onion - 2 to 3 Tablespoon chopped
  • Green Capsicum - 2 to 3 Tablespoon chopped
  • Ginger-Green Chilli/Adrak-Hari mirch paste - 1 chopped
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Red Chilli powder - as per taste
  • Chaat masala - as per taste
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - as required for roasting
  • Fruit salt - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take a grinder jar and add leftover/cooked rice, suji, curd, and little water. Grind it to make smooth paste. Transfer to the bowl.
  2. Rest the batter for 15 minutes. The batter should be of thick consistency.
  3. Put salt to taste, cumin seeds and ginger-green chili paste. Mix well. Add fruit salt and mix well.
  4. Heat a tawa or pan. Put about 1 teaspoon oil on the pan. Make small uttapam and cook them on medium to low flame.
  5. Place the finely chopped onion and capsicum. Sprinkle chaat masala and red chili powder. Put some oil on the uttapam and on its sides. Press the vegetables.
  6. Roast the uttapam from one side for 1 to 2 minutes. Flip and again roast from other side for 1 to 2 minutes.
  7. Delicious 'Bache Hue Chawal Ka Uttapam' is ready to be served.
