Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING BESAN PALAK KI SABJI :
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger / Adrakh - 1 Inch chopped
  • Turmeric Powder / Haldi Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame Seeds / Til - 1/2 tsp
  • Gram Flour / Besan - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder / Dhania Powder - 1 tsp
  • Dry Mango Powder / Aamchur - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Spinach / Palak - A bunch finely chopped
  • Water - As required
  • FOR PREPARING PARATHA :
  • Whole Wheat Flour / Gehu Ka Aata - 1 Cup
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Water - As required
  • Clarified Butter / Ghee - As required
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING BESAN PALAK KI SABJI :
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, ginger, turmeric powder, sesame seeds, and besan. Mix well and roast it for a few seconds on low flame till the nice aroma begins to rise. Keep stirring continuously.
  3. Then add coriander powder, dry mango powder, salt, and red chilli powder. Mix well.
  4. Add a little water and mix well. Bring it to a boil. Then add spinach and mix well.
  5. Add a little water and mix well. Saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Keep stirring occasionally.
  6. Once done, turn off the flame and take it out in a serving bowl.
  7. FOR PREPARING PARATHA :
  8. Take whole wheat flour in a bowl. Add salt and mix well.
  9. Add water gradually to knead the medium-soft consistency dough. Let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Take the medium-soft whole wheat dough and make a round shaped circular peda from the dough. Dust it with flour and roll a peda to make a paratha.
  11. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Place the paratha on it and cook it on a medium flame.
  12. Flip the paratha. Apply ghee on one side of the paratha. Cook it well from both sides and keep pressing it.
  13. Once it is done, take it out on a serving plate. Likewise, prepare another paratha.
  14. 'Besan Palak Ki Sabji With Paratha' is ready to be served.
