Bread Pakode is a yummy munching tea-time snack.

Bread Pakode is a crunchy and cheesy snack dish. A different and must-try snack for the evening hunger pangs. This is a wonderful dish to enjoy in the monsoon season. It requires bread, gram flour, and the vegetables like onion, coloured capsicum, tomato etc make it crispy and relishing. Adding the fennel seeds makes it crunchy and it enhances the taste along with the spices like red chili powder, all spice mix powder, and chaat masala. Ingredients

  • Gram flour/Besan - 1 cup
  • Bread slices - 5 to 6 no
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1 no finely chopped
  • Green Capsicum - 1/2 to 1 finely chopped
  • Yellow Capsicum - 1/2 to 1 finely chopped
  • Red Capsicum - 1/2 to 1 finely chopped
  • Tomato/Tamatar - 1/2 to 1 finely chopped
  • Green chili/Hari mirch - 1 no finely chopped
  • Fennel seeds/Saunf - 1 tablespoon
  • Cheese cube/slice - grated as required (optional)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Red chili powder/Lal mirch powder - 1 to 2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • All spice mix powder/Garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida powder/Hing powder - a pinch
  • Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Water - as required
  • Oil - for frying

Instructions

  1. Grind 5 to 6 bread slices to make breadcrumbs. In a bowl, take the gram flour, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, green capsicum, yellow capsicum and red capsicum.
  2. Then, add the finely chopped tomato, green chili, fennel seeds and grated cheese. Then, put salt to taste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, all spice mix powder and asafoetida powder.
  3. Meanwhile heat oil for frying. Put the chaat masala, add water as required, mix with spoon to make mixture of thick consistency.
  4. With the help of spoon, take the mixture and put into the hot oil and fry on low to medium flame to make pakode. Fry from all the sides, take out on a plate and garnish with chaat masala
  5. The Bread Pakode is ready to be served.
