Dahi Aloo | Dahi Wale Aloo is a mouthwatering savoury dish. 

If you don’t have any green veggie at home then ‘Dahi Aloo | Dahi Wale Aloo’ is a perfect option. This does not require much ingredients and time. You just need boiled potatoes, curd, some spices. This is super quick and easy to prepare. This is amazing in taste and goes well with roti, paratha, poori or even with rice. The good thing is it does not use onion, garlic and tomato. Hence, you can prepare this dish anytime. It is a very simple and quick recipe. So, try to make this yummy dish at your end and enjoy with your loved ones.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • This recipe does not use red chilli powder. But if you want you can add it.
  • After adding curd to the pan immediately turn off the flame. Make sure, the curd is at room temperature and beat it properly.
  • This dish tastes amazing when we use slightly big-sized mustard seeds.

Ingredients

  • Boiled Aloo/Potato - 2
  • Fresh Curd/Dahi - 3/4 Cup
  • Green Chilli - 2 long pieces
  • Mustard seeds - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander/Dhaniya Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin/Jeera Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Garam Masala/All spice mix - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Kasuri Methi/Dry fenugreek leaves - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Coriander Leaves - as required for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add asafoetida then add green chillies, mustard seeds, and saute it.
  2. Add turmeric powder then diced boiled potato. Saute it for a minute.
  3. Now, add coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, garam masala, and kasuri methi/dry fenugreek leaves. Mix well.
  4. Finally, add curd and turn off the flame immediately. Stir well. Garnish it with coriander leaves. Then transfer to a bowl.
  5. Delicious 'Dahi Aloo | Dahi Wale Aloo' is ready to be served.

    Hello Vijay ji, I have just seen your recipe “aaloo ki dahi wali sabji” on FB. I like it. I suggest the same cooking procedure with ‘Lauki. Only Mustard seed not to be added in Lauki recipe. Plz add this recipe in Aaykar Ka Tadka. Thank you. 🙏
