Ingredients

  • Hung curd / Thick curd - 1 Cup
  • Grated cheese - 1/2 Cup
  • Grated paneer / Cottage Cheese - 1/2 Cup
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Bread crumbs - 2 Tablespoons + For coating
  • Corn flour - 2 Tablespoons
  • Ginger-green chilli paste / Adrakh hari mirchi paste - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chilli Powder/ Lal Mirch Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Chaat masala - 1 Teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Black salt / Kala namak - As per taste
  • Black pepper powder / Kali mirch - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Cashew / Kaju - 7 to 8 Chopped
  • Water - As required
  • Oil - As required

Instructions

  1. Take a strainer and put a muslin cloth on it. Pour the curd and tie the cloth. You can hang it or leave it on a strainer overnight.
  2. Now, take the hung curd in a bowl. Add cheese, onion, coriander leaves, bread crumbs, corn flour, ginger-green chilli paste, salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin seeds powder, black salt, black pepper powder, and cashew. Mix well.
  3. Take a small ball-sized portion of the mixture with wet hands. Press it with your hands and prepare a flattened kabab.
  4. FOR MAKING SHALLOW FRIED KABAB :
  5. Heat a pan over a medium flame. Grease it with oil. Place the kabab for shallow frying. Roast it on a low flame for 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. Roast the kabab from one side till it becomes nice golden brown and crispy. Then flip it to roast it from another side. Roast it on a low flame for 4 to 5 minutes.
  7. Once done take it out on a serving plate. Likewise roast all the kababs.
  8. FOR MAKING FRIED KABAB :
  9. Coat the kabab with bread crumbs completely. Likewise, prepare all kababs.
  10. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan for frying. Place prepared kabab into the hot oil. Fry them on medium flame.
  11. Deep fry them until they become crispy and golden brown from all sides. Then, take them out on a serving plate using a slotted spoon.
  12. 'Dahi Kabab | Dahi Ke Kabab' are ready to be served with ketchup and green chutney.
