Dahi Wali Mirchi is a delicious side dish for the meals.

Dahi Wali Mirchi is a very popular recipe from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The green chillies served with flavoured curd to make it delicious and flavourful. This has a nice smoky flavour. This is very quick and easy to prepare with only 2 ingredients that are chillies, curd and spices add taste to the dish. Moreover, it is very simple and requires only 5 minutes. You can serve it for lunch and dinner. Everyone will enjoy the dish very much. So, try to make this unique dish at home and enjoy with your family.

  • It is recommended to use big sized chillies.
  • Remove the seeds of chillies if it is spicy.
  • Use thick curd to make this dish. Whip the curd and strain the water completely.

Ingredients

  • Green Chilli - 2 big sized
  • Thick curd - 1 Cup
  • Hing/asafoetida - as required
  • Rock Salt/Sendha Namak - as per taste
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Black salt - as per taste
  • Anardana Powder/Dry pomegranate seeds powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin/Jeera Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Beat the curd and then strain the water completely.
  2. Wash and pat dry the chillies. Then make a slit in the chillies.
  3. Sprinkle asafoetida and rock salt/sendha namak inside the chillies.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a tawa or pan. Add ghee to it.
  5. Roast the chillies on a hot tawa. Roast it from all the sides on a medium flame. Once done, take them out.
  6. Add salt, black salt, cumin powder and anardana powder/dry pomegranate seeds powder to the curd and mix well.
  7. Place the chillies on the top. Sprinkle cumin powder and anardana powder/dry pomegranate seeds powder on the top.
  8. Delicious 'Dahi Wali Mirchi' is ready to be served.
