Green Peas Thepla With Palak Sabji And Raita is a winter special dish. It is an easy and healthy dish to make within 15 minutes. Whenever you are in hurry to make a lunch, dinner, or an office lunch box, you can prepare this thali. You just need green peas, spinach, tomato, cucumber, whole wheat flour, maize flour, and some spices. You can prepare this dish for your unexpected guest also. Tips and suggestions by the Mom Chef:

  • FOR GREEN PEAS THEPLA :
  • Green peas should be coarsely ground.
  • All spices and green peas mixture should be mixed first, then add flours.
  • You can add 1 or 2 tsp Water if required to knead the dough.
  • If you want, you can prepare thepla with whole wheat flour only.
  • Oil can be used instead of ghee to roast thepla.
  • FOR PALAK SABJI :
  • Add lemon juice to it before serving for a better taste.

Ingredients

  • FOR PREPARING GREEN PEAS THEPLA :
  • Green peas / Matar - 1 Cup
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1 tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste / Adarak-lahsun ka paste - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Whole wheat flour / Gehu ka aata - 1/2 Cup
  • Maize flour / Makke ka aata - 1/2 Cup
  • Water - 1 to 2 tsp
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - As required
  • FOR PREPARING PALAK SABJI :
  • Spinach / Palak - A bunch finely chopped
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Tomato / Tamatar - 1 Grated
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirch powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder / Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder / Jeera powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Garlic paste / Lahsun paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Water - 1 Cup
  • FOR PREPARING CUCUMBER RAITA :
  • Cucumber / Kheera - 1/2 Grated
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 Cup whisked
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1
  • Black grapes - 6 to 7
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Black pepper powder / Kali mirch powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilli flakes - 1/4 tsp
  • FOR PREPARING CUCUMBER SALAD :
  • Cucumber / Kheera - 1/2 Sliced
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Sliced
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Chilli flakes - A pinch
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING GREEN PEAS THEPLA :
  2. Take green peas in a grinding jar. Grind it for a few seconds. Green peas should be coarsely ground.
  3. Take it out to a bowl. Add coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, asafoetida, cumin seeds powder, ginger-garlic paste, and oil. Mix well.
  4. Then add whole wheat flour and maize flour gradually to prepare the dough. Add 1 to 2 tsp water and prepare the dough. Keep it aside and let it rest for 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Take a ball-sized dough, and dust it with flour. Prepare a thepla from it. Cut the thepla into a round shape using a big bowl.
  6. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Grease it with ghee. Place the thepla on it and cook it on a medium flame.
  7. Flip the thepla and cook it on a medium flame for 2 - 3 minutes and keep pressing it. Cook it well from both sides by applying ghee to it. Once it is done, take it out on a serving plate. Likewise, prepare another thepla.
  8. FOR PREPARING PALAK SABJI :
  9. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, and tomato. Mix well. Saute it for 1 to 2 minutes on low flame.
  10. Then add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, and salt. Mix well. Further, add garlic paste and spinach. Mix well and saute it for a few seconds.
  11. Now add 1 cup of water. Then cover the pressure cooker with its lid. Cook it till 3 whistles on medium flame.
  12. Once cooked well, turn off the flame. Let it cool down. Then open the pressure cooker and take out sabji in a serving bowl.
  13. FOR PREPARING CUCUMBER RAITA :
  14. Take curd in a bowl. Add cucumber, onion, coriander leaves, green chilli, black grapes, salt, black pepper powder, and chilli flakes. Mix well. Take it out to a serving plate.
  15. FOR PREPARING CUCUMBER SALAD :
  16. Take cucumber and onion in a bowl. Sprinkle salt and chilli flakes. Mix well.
  17. 'Green Peas Thepla With Palak Sabji And Raita' is ready to be served with pickle.
