Instant Rava Dosa | Sooji Dosa is an easy breakfast recipe.

Instant Rava Dosa | Sooji Dosa is easy to make within 5 minutes. You can prepare this dosa using semolina, rice flour, onion, and some spices. It is quick to serve because it doesn’t require any grinding or fermentation process. It goes well with spicy kara chutney and veg kurma. In addition, It is a super easy and instant dish while you hurry in making breakfast, lunch, or dinner, So try to make this recipe in your kitchen and share your valuable feedback with us.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:

  • The ratio of semolina to rice flour is 2:1.
  • Add chopped green chilli instead of its paste for a nice flavor.
  • Onion is optional.
  • If you want, you can add onion to the batter.
  • Maida can be added instead of rice flour.
  • Oil can be used instead of ghee.
  • When the dosa leaves the pan and becomes nice golden brown it indicates that the dosa is well cooked.
  • You can cook the dosa from one side only.

Ingredients

  • Semolina / Sooji - 1 Cup
  • Rice flour / Chawal ka aata - 1/2 Cup
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few chopped (optional)
  • Ginger paste / Adarak paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 2 Finely chopped
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Cumin seeds / Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Curd / Dahi - 2 tbsp
  • Water - As required
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - As required
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Take semolina in a bowl. Add rice flour, coriander leaves, curry leaves, ginger paste, green chilli, salt, cumin seeds, and curd. Mix well.
  2. Now add water gradually and prepare a thin consistency batter.
  3. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Grease it with oil. Spread onion on it. Now keep the flame high and pour the batter on the tawa to make dosa.
  4. Pour some ghee on top. Cover the pan with a lid. Cook it on a high flame for 2 to 3 minutes till it becomes crispy.
  5. When the dosa leaves the pan and becomes nice golden brown it indicates that the dosa is well cooked.
  6. Then flip it and cook it from another side for 1 minute on a high flame.
  7. Once done, take it out on a serving plate.
  8. 'Instant Rava Dosa | Sooji Dosa' is ready to be served.
