Instant Rava Vada | Instant Sooji Vada is a spicy and healthy breakfast. 

Instant Rava Vada | Instant Sooji Vada is a crispy and easy-to-make snack. You can easily prepare it with semolina, curd, and some spices. It goes well with sambar or coconut chutney for morning breakfast. This type of snack is the most eatable snack during the evening with a hot cup of tea. This is one of the evening snacks which can be prepared instantly and with minimum ingredients. In addition, you can prepare this lip-smacking snack without any fermentation and grinding process.   • You can prepare this vada with any type of rava.
  • If required, add water to adjust the consistency of the rava mixture after adding curd.
  • The vada should be fried on medium to low flame.

Ingredients

  • Semolina / Sooji / Rava - 2 Cups
  • Curd / Dahi - 1 Cups
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Black pepper powder / Kali mirch powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida / Hing - A pinch
  • Ginger-green chilli / Adarak-hari mirchi - 1 tsp Finely chopped
  • Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Water - As required
  • Oil - For frying
  • tsp = teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take semolina in a bowl. Add curd and salt. Mix well to prepare a thick consistency mixture like dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Then add black pepper powder, asafoetida, ginger-green chilli, curry leaves by slightly crushing them, coriander leaves, and baking soda. Mix well.
  3. Add little water to adjust the consistency of the rava mixture.
  4. Meanwhile, heat oil for frying in a wonderchef Cast Iron Kadhai. Take a small portion of the rava mixture on a wet palm and spread it. Then make a small hole in the center and place it in the heated oil.
  5. Fry them from both sides on a medium to low flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Once they turn nice golden brown, take them out into a serving plate.
  6. 'Instant Rava Vada | Instant Sooji Vada' is ready to be served.
