Makhana Bhel | Fox Nuts Chaat is an Indian snack that is sure to tantalize the taste buds. This low-calorie snack is light on the tummy and tastes delicious. Makhana Bhel is the perfect healthy snack to include in your daily regime and get the most benefit of Makhanas. Makhanas are packed with protein, potassium, phosphorus, fiber, magnesium, iron, and zinc. Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Dry roast makhanas on medium heat till crunchy. Keep stirring in between for even roasting.
  • Add more and more veggies to the chaat to make it more nutritious.
  • Adjust the spices as per taste and serve it immediately.
  • Use homemade green chutney and dates chutney.
  • If you do not have any chutney than you can use tomato sauce also.

Ingredients

  • Ghee/ clarified butter - 1 teaspoon
  • Makhana/ fox nuts - 1 bowl
  • Potato - 1 boiled and chopped
  • Tomato - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 small-sized finely chopped
  • Green chutney - 2 to 3 tablespoon
  • Dates chutney - 2 to 3 tablespoon
  • Chaat masala - as required
  • Salt - as required
  • Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
  • Zero sev/ nylon sev/ Indian snack - as required
  • Coriander leaves - finely chopped as required

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add makhana to it and mix it properly. Roast it for 7 to 8 minutes on low to medium flame.
  2. Roast makhana until it becomes crunchy. Keep stirring in between for even roasting. Once roasted turn off the flame.
  3. Transfer it to a bowl and add potato, tomato, green chutney, onion, dates chutney, chaat masala, salt, squeeze lemon juice, and mix it properly.
  4. Further, garnish it with the sev, coriander leaves, and mix it properly.
  5. Delicious Makhana Bhel | Fox Nuts Chaat is ready to be served.
