Masaledar besan bhindi | Besan wali bhindi is an easy and quick dry variation of bhindi recipe prepared by coating it with spiced besan or gram flour. It is relished with roti, chapati, or even with the dal rice combination. The main ingredients are bhindi, besan, onion, and spices. The recipe for besan wali bhindi is extremely simple and the spiced besan mixture can be prepared within minutes. Try to prepare it at home and enjoy it with family and friends. Ingredients

  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chili - 2 slit
  • Onion - 1 big-sized finely chopped
  • Bhindi/ okra/ lady finger - 200 gram
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon or as required
  • Salt - as required
  • Coriander powder - 2 teaspoons
  • Cumin seeds powder - 1/2 teaspoon roasted powder
  • Besan/ gram flour - 1 small bowl
  • Garam masala/ all spice mix - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder/ amchur - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take bhindi, wash, and dry it. Slit all the bhindi into 4 pieces and keep it aside.
  2. Now, heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, green chili, and onion. Saute it well.
  3. Meanwhile, take a bowl and add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, and mix it well.
  4. Now, add masala in the bowl of bhindi and make sure to coat the spices well and rest it for 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, saute the onion and add besan to it.
  6. Roast the besan for 4 to 5 minutes or till the besan turns aromatic. Keep the flame low.
  7. Add prepared bhindi masala mix and saute for a minute.
  8. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or till bhindi turns dark and cooked completely.
  9. Further, add garam masala, amchur powder, and mix it well.
