Methi Matar Malai | Dhaba Style Methi Matar Malai is a delicious winter delicacy for everyone. 

Methi Matar Malai | Dhaba Style Methi Matar Malai is creamy and rich sabzi. This uses methi/fenugreek leaves, matar/green peas and cream/malai. This is a dhaba style recipe that goes well with naan, paratha and roti. Moreover, this is quick and simple to prepare. You just need some easily available ingredients to prepare this popular dish. It gets ready quickly as well. Everyone will love this curry. So, try to make this curry at home and enjoy with your family and friends.

Ingredients

  • Methi/Fenugreek Leaves - 250 Gram
  • Matar/Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Malai/Homemade Cream - 1/4 Cup
  • Onion - 1
  • Garlic - 5 to 6
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Tomato - 2
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon or as per taste
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon + 3 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Wash the fenugreek leaves well and chop it.
  2. Make paste of onion, garlic, ginger and green chilli. Make tomato puree as well.
  3. Boil the green peas in water until soft.
  4. Meanwhile, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  5. Add chopped fenugreek leaves and saute on a high flame. After 1 to 2 minutes, take it out.
  6. In the same pan, add 3 tablespoon oil and heat it.
  7. Add cumin seeds then onion-garlic-ginger-green chilli paste. Mix well and cook it.
  8. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  9. Add tomato puree and let it cook on a low flame.
  10. Once the oil leaves from sides, add sauteed fenugreek leaves, boiled green peas. Mix well and cook for a minute.
  11. Then add homemade malai/cream and mix well. Cook for a minute then switch off the flame.
  12. Delicious 'Methi Matar Malai | Dhaba Style Methi Matar Malai' is ready to be served.
