Palak Paratha | Spinach Paratha is a delicious and healthy paratha for everyone. 

Palak Paratha | Spinach Paratha is packed with nutrition and taste. This is quick and easy to prepare using simple and easily available ingredients. You can serve it as a breakfast or dinner or tea-time snack or even in the kid’s tiffin. This is rich in iron as this uses palak/spinach. It tastes amazing alone itself. Everyone will love this paratha. So, try to make it this winter and enjoy with family. Do share your feedback as well.

This paratha was prepared by Shraddha Thakrar –  a lovely grandmom from Gujarat.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Less water should be used for boiling the palak/spinach.
  • Instead of using water, knead the dough using palak puree.
  • Paratha of any shape of choice, can be made.
  • The paratha should be first cooked on a low flame until it is half cooked and then roasted on a high flame after applying ghee.

Ingredients

  • Gehu Ka Aata/Whole Wheat Flour - 1 cup
  • Palak/Spinach puree - as required
  • Ginger paste - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Green Chilli paste - to taste
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 Tablespoon
  • White sesame/Til seeds - 1 to 2 Teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1 Teaspoon
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter - as required, for roasting

Instructions

  1. Boil the palak/spinach in very less water. Boil it for 2 to 3 times and then turn off the flame. Let it cool and make a smooth puree.
  2. Take a bowl and add palak/spinach puree, coriander leaves, green chilli paste, ginger paste, salt, oil, and sesame seeds. Mix well.
  3. Then add whole wheat flour and knead the dough. Use the spinach puree to knead a semi-soft dough. Cover and rest the dough for 10 minutes if you have time.
  4. Now, take a small portion of the dough. Dust and roll it to make a roti. Then grease it with ghee. Sprinkle some flour, then fold it to make a square shape. Then roll the paratha again.
  5. Meanwhile, heat a tawa.
  6. Cook the paratha on the hot tawa. Keep the flame low and cook the paratha on both the sides.
  7. Then apply ghee on both the sides and roast the paratha again. Once cooked, take it out on a serving plate.
  8. Delicious 'Palak Paratha | Spinach Paratha' is ready to be served.
