Pyaaz Ki Chutney | Onion Chutney is a delicious condiment that you can use as a dip or spread and tastes great with just about anything. The chutney recipe is so quick to prepare by using minimum ingredients. It tastes spicy and tangy and enhances the flavor of the dish. Serve it with paratha or roti or naan or rice.   • Soak the red chili as it helps to ground to a fine paste.
  • Prefer Kashmiri red chili if you want a dark red color to your chutney.
  • You can also add some water if you want a fine paste.
  • You can also add curry leaves if you like it’s taste.
  • Adjust the spice, tanginess, and sweetness as per the requirement.
  • Store it in an airtight container in a refrigerator for longer shelf life.

Ingredients

  • Kashmiri red chili - 3 to 4
  • Onion - 2 big-sized chopped
  • Tamarind - 1 small piece
  • Jaggery powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - as required
  • Water - as required
  • Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Hing/ asafoetida - a pinch
  • Urad dal/ split and husked black gram - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Soak Kashmiri red chili for half an hour.
  2. Now, take a mixer jar and add soaked red chili, onion, tamarind, jaggery powder, and salt. Grind it and add some water if needed.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, hing, and urad dal. Saute it on low to medium flame.
  4. Add the ground paste and saute it well until it leaves the oil. Turn off the flame.
  5. Delicious Pyaaz Ki Chutney | Onion Chutney is ready to be served.
