Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • To make the hung curd, place the curd in a muslin cloth. Tie it together and let all the water drain out in 1 to 2 hours.
  • Adding besan to the marination mixture, helps in soaking water from the curd and also adds texture.
  • It is recommended to marinate the paneer cubes in separate bowl, so that the cubes will not break.
  • Mustard oil adds flavor to the dish.
  • After marinating the vegetables and paneer for 30 minutes at room temperature, you can store it in the fridge for next day preparation.

Ingredients

  • Hung curd - 1 tablespoon
  • Gram flour/Besan - 1 tablespoon
  • Dry fenugreek leaves/Kasuri methi - 1 tablespoon
  • Green chili/Hari mirch paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Black salt - to taste
  • Black peppercorn powder - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Kashmiri red chili powder/Lal mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder/Jeera powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mustard oil/Sarson tel - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - of 1/2 lemon
  • Green capsicum - 1/2 no diced (big chunks)
  • Red Capsicum - 1/2 no diced (big chunks)
  • Onion/Pyaz - 1/2 no diced (big chunks)
  • Cottage cheese/Paneer cubes - 1/2 cup
  • Oil - for greasing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, put the hung curd, gram flour, dry fenugreek leaves, green chili paste, ginger-garlic paste, and black salt to taste.
  2. Then, put the black peppercorn powder, salt to taste, kashmiri red chili powder, roasted cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder, mustard oil and squeeze lemon juice of half lemon. Mix with spoon.
  3. Again add some kashmiri red chili powder and mix well. Meanwhile, preheat the air fryer at 200 degree Celcius for 5 minutes.
  4. Divide the marination mixture in two separate bowls. In one bowl put the green and red capsicum and onion. In the other bowl, put the paneer cubes.
  5. Mix the capsicum, onion and paneer cubes with marination in the separate bowl with hands. Coat the marination on the capsicum, onion and paneer cubes, respectively. Rest it for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  6. Take a skewer, first put the marinated capsicum, then 2 pieces of onion so that they stick together, then paneer cube. Again, put the capsicum, onion and paneer cube. Prepare more 4 to 5 skewer.
  7. Grease the air fryer grill with oil. Place the skewers in the air fryer. Grease the paneer tikka on skewer with oil. Set the temperature at 200 degree Celcius for 10 minutes and air fry the paneer tikkas.
  8. The Restaurant Style Paneer Tikka In Air Fryer is ready to be served.
