Ingredients

  • Leftover cooked rice - 1 Cup
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1 Finely chopped
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1/2 to 1 Finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • Achar masala - 1/2 Teaspoon (optional)
  • Whole wheat dough - As required
  • Clarified butter / Ghee - As required

Instructions

  1. Take leftover cooked rice in a bowl. Add onion, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, green chilli, coriander leaves, and achar masala. Mix well. Keep it aside.
  2. Take a medium ball-sized portion of the dough, shape it into a ball and flatten it. Dust it with flour. Roll it and prepare a small roti.
  3. Put the prepared rice stuffing in the centre. Join the edges and seal the paratha properly. Dust it with flour. Roll it and prepare the paratha.
  4. Meanwhile, heat a tawa. Grease it with ghee. Place the paratha on the tawa. Cook on one side.
  5. Flip it once it is slightly brown, apply ghee on both sides and cook it on a low to medium flame. Press the paratha while cooking it to make it crispy.
  6. Once done. Take it out to the serving plate and cut it.
  7. 'Rice Paratha | Leftover Rice Paratha' is ready to be served.
