Sooji Halwa | Danedar Suji Halwa is a yummy dessert made with sooji/semolina. We all know to make sooji halwa/suji halwa, but this recipe is different. This method makes the halwa more flavourful and rich. It has sooji/semolina, milk, little ghee, coconut and some dry nuts for crunch. This halwa has a nice aroma that comes from cardamom powder and the coconut gives a different taste to the halwa. So, try to make the halwa at your end and enjoy this festive season with family and friends.

Tips and Suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Soak the semolina or sooji (you can use fine or little coarse sooji) in milk for 30 minutes. Then roast it in ghee on low flame only until it turns to brownish. However, you can roast it for a longer time or lesser time as per your choice.
  • You can cook the halwa with milk or water according to your choice.
  • Adding desiccated coconut is completely optional.
  • You can add sugar according to your taste.
