Ingredients

  • Tamarind / Imli - 50 gms Seedless
  • Water - As required
  • Onion / Pyaz - 2 tsp Finely chopped
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirch - 1 to 2 Finely chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chaat Masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder / Bhuna Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Black Salt / Kala Namak - As per taste
  • Powdered Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Jaggery / Gud - 1 tsp grated
  • Boiled Potato / Uble Hue Aloo - 1 Small sized peeled
  • Coriander Leaves / Hara Dhaniya - A handful + For garnishing
  • tsp = teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Soak tamarind in the hot water for 10 minutes. Then mash it with your hands and strain it.
  2. Take it out in a bowl. Add onion, green chilli, red chilli powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin seeds powder, salt, black salt, powdered sugar, and jaggery. Mix well.
  3. Then grate boiled potato into the chutney. Mix well. Add coriander leaves and a little water to adjust the consistency.
  4. Once done, garnish it with coriander leaves.
  5. 'Tamarind Chutney | Imli Pyaz Ki Chutney' is ready to be served.
