Ingredients

  • Mustard Oil / Sarso Ka Tel - 1 tbsp
  • Tomato / Tamatar - 3 Halves
  • Green Chilli / Hari Mirchi - 2 to 3 chopped
  • Coriander Leaves - A handful
  • Water - As required
  • Red Chilli Powder / Lal Mirch Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Black Salt / Kala Namak - 1/2 tsp
  • Roasted Cumin Seeds Powder / Bhuna Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion / Pyaz - 1/2 Finely chopped (optional)
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add tomato's seeds sides down, green chilli, and coriander leaves.
  2. Saute it for 1 minute on high flame till the tomato becomes soft.
  3. Then flip the tomatoes. Cover the pan with a lid and cook it for 1 to 2 minutes on medium flame. Then peel the tomatoes.
  4. Then cut the tomato into small pieces. Once done, take it out in a bowl and let it cool down.
  5. Now transfer it to a grinding jar and add a little water. Coarsely grind it for a few seconds to prepare its chutney.
  6. Take it out in a bowl. Add red chilli powder, black salt, salt, roasted cumin seeds powder, onion, and coriander leaves. Mix well.
  7. 'Tomato Green Chilli Chutney' is ready to be served.
