Vrat Wali Dahi Aloo sabji is an ideal fasting side dish.

Vrat Wali Dahi Aloo sabji is a lip-smacking curd-based curry. It is simply made with potatoes and yogurt with other dry spices. You can serve it with farali poori, or rajgira paratha for lunch or dinner. In addition, It has few ingredients but the flavors really shine through. when you have unexpected guests, prepare this dish quickly, and make it with just a handful of ingredients. Tips and Suggestions by a Mom Chef:

  • Use room temperature curd.
  • Turn off the flame before adding curd. Then when turning on the flame, stir curd continuously, otherwise, it will curdle.
  • Add salt only after the curd boils.

Ingredients

  • Clarified butter / Ghee - 1 Tablespoon
  • Carom seeds / Ajwain - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Red chili powder / Lal mirchi powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Curd / Dahi - 2 Cups (whisked)
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Boiled and peeled potato / Aloo - 4 - 5 Chopped
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add carom seeds, red chili powder. Turn off flame then add curd. Mix well.
  2. Now turn on flame. Stir curd continously on low flame, till comes 1 boil.
  3. Once the curd boils. add salt. Then add potato. Mix well.
  4. Cook it till comes 1 boil. Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  5. 'Vrat Wali Dahi Aloo sabji' is ready to be served.
