Potato Bread Pakoda is a tasty and appetizing snack dish. It is easy to prepare and one can make it with or without potato filling. Making with Potato filling gives more flavor to it. It is a complete and perfect Sunday breakfast. Serving it with a hot cup of tea during a rainy day makes it more enjoyable. Tips and suggestions by the Mom Chef :-

  • The batter should of medium consistency otherwise it will not coat properly over the bread slices.
  • You can use bread of your choice.
  • In place of meethi chutney, you can use Tomato Sauce | Tomato Ketchup
  • Make this dish using Khajoor Ki Chutney | Dates Chutney &  Green Chutney | Hari Chutney | Coriander Chutney

Ingredients

  • FOR BREAD PAKODA FILLING
  • Potato/Aloo - 4 boiled & mashed
  • Green chili/Hari Mirch - 1 no finely chopped
  • Ginger/Adark - 1 inch finely chopped
  • Coriander Leaves - as required
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Red Chili powder/Lal mirch powder - as per taste
  • All spice mix powder/ Garam masala - as per taste
  • Meethi chutney - 1 teaspoon
  • Green Chutney - 1 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala - As per taste
  • FOR COATING THE BREAD PAKODA
  • Gram flour/Besan - 1 cup
  • Water - 3/4 cup
  • Red chili powder/ Lal Mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder/Haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - As per taste
  • All Spice mix powder/Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil - For frying
  • White Bread - 2 slices

Instructions

  1. FOR MAKING BREAD PAKODA FILLING
  2. To prepare filling, put the boiled and mashed potatoes, green chili, ginger and coriander leaves in a bowl.
  3. Add red chili powder, salt, all spice mix powder, chaat masala and mix well.
  4. FOR MAKING BREAD PAKODA COATING
  5. Then take another bowl and put gram flour and add water to it. Stir it well and make it medium consistency batter.
  6. Add salt, red chili powder, all spice mix powder and turmeric powder to it and mix well to avoid lumps.
  7. Take two bread slices and apply meethi chutney on one of bread slice and green chutney on another bread slice.
  8. Now, spread potato masala on the bread slice with green chutney and cover with bread slice with meethi chutney.
  9. Then cut the filled bread slices into square or triangle shape with knife. Dip the bread slice into the batter.
  10. Heat oil for frying and put the batter coated bread slices into the oil and fry from all the sides. Once it turns golden brown from both sides, take it out on a tissue paper.
  11. The Potato Bread Pakoda is ready to serve with tea and sauce or chutney.
