Ingredients

  • Dosa batter - As required
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Butter - As required
  • Green chutney - As required
  • Tomato ketchup - As required
  • Cheese slice - 1
  • FOR PREPARING POTATO MASALA :
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds / Rai - 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger / Adarak - 1 Inch finely chopped
  • Green chilli / Hari mirchi - 1 to 2 Finely chopped
  • Curry leaves / Curry patta - A few
  • Bengal Gram / Chana dal - 1 tsp
  • Black gram / Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder / Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - As per taste
  • Boiled potato / Aloo - 2 to 3 Peeled and mashed
  • Coriander leaves / Hara dhaniya - A handful
  • tsp = teaspoon
  • tbsp = tablespoon

Instructions

  1. FOR PREPARING POTATO MASALA :
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves, bengal gram, and black gram. Roast it for a few seconds on medium flame.
  3. Then add turmeric powder, salt, and mashed potato. Mix well. Now add coriander leaves and mix well.
  4. Once done, turn off the flame and slightly let it cool down.
  5. Take a small ball-sized portion of the mixture. Press it with your hands and prepare a flattened tikki. Keep it aside
  6. FOR PREPARING DOSA SANDWICH:
  7. Take medium thick consistency dosa batter in a bowl and add salt to it. Mix well.
  8. Heat sandwich maker. Grease it with butter and add the dosa batter into it. Add some drops of butter to it.
  9. Let it cook for 5 to 6 minutes till it becomes light golden and crisp. Then add little butter and remove its sides. Once done, take it out and flip it. Cut it into 2 parts.
  10. Now apply green chutney to the one grilled part and apply tomato ketchup on another grilled part.
  11. Then put the prepared potato masala tikki and cheese slice on the ketchup applied slice. Cover it with chutney applied slice.
  12. Grease the sandwich maker with butter and put the prepared sandwich into it.
  13. Toast it for 5 to 7 minutes till it becomes light golden and crisp. Once done, take it out to a serving plate.
  14. 'Dosa Sandwich | Sandwich Without Bread' is ready to be served with green chutney.
